Wednesday, 17 July 2012 / PNN – Israeli Army broadcast published that Israeli Attorney General Yehuda Vainshtein claimed that al-Aqsa mosque and its surrounding is an integral part of Israel’s lands, so the Israeli laws must be implemented, especially the two laws issued by the Temple Mount Antiquities Rescue Committee; the Law of Planning and Construction, 1965, and the Antiquities Law of 1978.
The Army radio also said “Because of the special nature of the site, laws should be applied with the utmost sensitivity, taking into account the pragmatic considerations.”
Vainshtein told his government and his counterparts in the Antiquities Authority, Jerusalem Municipality and police, “The parties that are concerned in implementing the law should regularly observe and monitor al- Aqsa Mosque and its vicinity to ensure the safety of the antiquities in it.”
“The Antiquities Authority must submit its report about what happens in al-Aqsa mosque area to the National Security Council and the government Secretary.”
The Islamic-Christian Committee in support of Jerusalem and holy sites warned from Vainshtein’s instructions, “Considering such a step and dangerous declaration, a clear and explicit announcement about Israel’s intention to occupy Al Aqsa Mosque and detach it from its Islamic and Arab reality.
